Desert Rivers Business Alliance

Desert Rivers Audubon's goals are oriented towards habitat and species conservation. Without habitat, we won't have birds and other wildlife. We are concerned with issues—ranging from water, pollution, planning, and land use, because they determine to what degree our region retains its important natural habitats. We run programs in conservation, education, and recreation as a way of engaging our members and the general public with our local environment and the need for preservation.
Corporate Participation
Many people work as part of corporations and businesses, large and
small. These organizations may have considerable resources that can be
applied to support our goal of habitat preservation. You may have
significant influence within your organization. You may even own it. We
have created a new way for businesses to support Desert Rivers Audubon
- the Desert Rivers Business Alliance. This new membership program for
businesses is a way for a business to say “Yes, we support the goals of
Desert Rivers Audubon and we want to help the chapter achieve those
goals.” As with any membership program, it brings benefits, both
tangible and intangible. These include public recognition, use of
logos, news of events for employee participation, and copies of our
newsletter. Improved standing in the eyes of the increasing numbers of
customers who are sensitive to an organization's green credentials make
membership in the Desert Rivers Business Alliance a good business
decision with positive effects on the bottom line. Many large national
corporations now recognize that building green credentials is
ultimately good for business.
Engagement
There is a natural tendency for members to become more actively
involved in our organization over time. That engagement may take the
form of volunteering in our habitat restoration work, bird surveys, and
a host of other activities, becoming a board or committee member, or
making regular financial contributions. These opportunities are the
same for our business partners. For example, businesses could engage
their employees in volunteer work, provide financial sponsorship for
particular events or programs, or adopt or initiate particular programs
(for example, use their own volunteers to create wildlife habitat at
their place of business under the guidance of Desert Rivers Audubon
leaders).
Membership Levels
To cater to a diversity of needs and resources among businesses, we
have developed a number of classes of membership, from the basic Copper
level of $300, through Silver at $750 and Gold at $2500. All figures
are minima, and each membership can be customized to requirements. If
you own your business and would like to join, contact Kim Aranda at kjaranda@aol.com
for a membership package and consultation if wanted. If you work for a
business that you think should be a member, talk to the person that
makes these decisions to discover what they would like from Desert
Rivers Audubon in order to join, then give us a call.
These businesses and corporations support the work of Desert Rivers Audubon as members of the Desert Rivers Business Alliance through direct donations, gifts in kind, or sponsorship of a program or event. Each plays a signifigant role in enabling Desert Rivers to provide programming, events, and outreach to the metropolitan communities we serve.
Desert Rivers’ thanks these companies for their concern for local environmental work, as demonstrated by their committment to the chapter and it’s programs. We encourage members and our web viewers to in turn support these companies with your business.
