Dave Pearson, Research Professor at the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University, is co-author of "Global Birding", a book published by the National Geographic Society which provides many details on planning international birding tours. On February 13, Dave will guide us through the process of planning you global birding adventure.
“Whether your primary goal is to add to your life list, be wowed by fancy species you have only dreamed about or use birds as an excuse to see new parts of the world, picking a country, planning the itinerary, and preparing for unknown travel experiences can be overwhelming,” Dave says. “We will look at favorite birding sites on each continent and discuss the best way to plan a trip that suits your personality, experience, and sense of adventure.”
We meet at the Southeast Regional Library, corner of Guadalupe and Greenfield Roads, Gilbert. Come at 6:30 to chat with friends and shop our bookstore. The speaker will begin at 7.
The Gilbert Family Walks are held every third

Liberty Wildlife, a non-profit wildlife rehab organization, displays live raptors at the Gilbert bird walks in October, January and March, and at Veteran’s Oasis Park in November, February and April. Experts are on hand to explain the birds’ habits and traits, giving visitors a close-up look at these avian hunters.
